AI glossary · a term from The AI Stairway™

Glue work

Also called being the glue, human copy and paste.

Glue work, as The AI Stairway™ course uses the phrase, is the re-typing, copying and pasting, chasing, remembering and reconciling a person does to move information between systems that don’t talk to each other. It’s often invisible and rarely in anyone’s job description, and it’s where the course looks for a first workflow to improve.

Think of it as

Being the human bridge between two systems.

Why it matters at work

Every manual hop between systems takes time and invites mistakes, and AI with connectors can now take some of them on. Module 8 has you map one weekly process and mark where you’re the glue.

This is a term The AI Stairway™ course uses for its own method; you won’t find it in every AI glossary.
